Syntax and Style provides small business website design, overall web presence for small businesses, and offers writing and editing services.

The founder and principal of Syntax and Style is Mary McAvoy, who has a B.A. in English and the Classics from Regis College. Following her degree work, she completed classes in business and law at the undergraduate level (at Merrimack College) and the graduate level (within the M.B.A. program at Babson College). Her work in copy writing and editing has been a thread throughout her career, which began in fund-raising at Phillips Academy in Andover, and continued as she was Senior Contract Administrator for NEC. While parenting, she produced social interest articles for a local newspaper and chaired two committees for which she wrote numerous newsletter articles. As Director of Admission at Oak Meadow Montessori School, she produced advertisements, marketing brochures, fund-raising pieces, and web copy.

As principal of Syntax and Style, Mary has become of value to small businesses and individuals as she's branded their identity and presence on the web. She keeps current with the best web and e- strategies for small businesses to incorporate into their marketing plan.

Syntax and Style constructs sites and written messages that speak to potential customers, clients, and other key audiences. You can view samples of work produced by Syntax and Style on the Portfolio page of this web site.
